WEEK 7

Who will be our client: Our client is 15 year old Callum Prince who has been suffering from depression for a short period of time.

Case Study

Client background: Callum Prince is a 15 year old British student who has been a student at St Pauls for several years. He is recently been suffering from mental health issues that are impacting him negatively.

Why do they need a change to their lives? Callum’s recent short term depression has been affecting his mental health as well as disrupting his social life inside and outside of school. A change is required to help Callum improve both his social and mental health to make him a functioning member of the ST Pauls community.

What are their short term/long term goals? Callum’s short term goal is to reach a good state of mental health that no longer effects his social life inside of school. He would like to completely improve his social outside of school as well as his overall mental health in the long run.

Any other relevant information about the client Our client is prone to procrastinating and not finishing tasks. This will be a challenge when creating a health program for him to follow.

What are our initial ideas/inquiry question?

What interventions could we introduce to our client? Programs focused around physical activity or mindful reflection could benefit our client if they were introduced to it.

What is the most thought provoking thing we have discovered so far? When researching mental health and depression we discovered that 75% of all mental health problems occur before age 25 with every one in ten teenagers committing self harm. This puts into perspective the severity of mental health issues among Australians.

What is the plan from here? Our plan is to develop a program for Callum that Helps incorporate all aspects of health to positively impact and change his life over the course of 6 weeks.
