Week 1 Program
Our first intervention will consist of our client taking a 15-minute bike ride before a 5 minute mindful walk which will continue from Monday through to Wednesday where they will then reflect on their feelings and the task from Thursday to Friday before resting and contacting a helpline on their current mental state and how they are feeling after completing all the previous activities. This program will go across the entire week before he checks in. The Men’s Line Australia recommends bike riding and other calming physical activities as it positively benefits on the persons social life as well as improving their overall mental health and positivity. Thanks to organizations like beyond blue our client contacting a professional will be quick and easy as well as beneficial for them. Better health Victoria recommends socializing as a way to boost overall mental health and positivity when interacting or talking with others.
Report:
Our client found the bike ride and walk effective as it was not energy or time-consuming when compared to other daily activities. Our client did have trouble contacting a professional or reflecting on their actions because of this vague program. To improve on it we will include simple and concise instructions to ensure there is no confusion when attempting to complete a task.
Week 2
For our second intervention we will have our client perform yoga and yoga moves designed around mindfulness which can be completed in 10-15 minutes. The yoga will take place across the entire week with The Australian Fitness Academy rates yoga highly because of its benefits to provide health and mindfulness without overloading the body with pressure and stress. After this, we will have our client reflect on the activity and whether or not it benefited them, if not what we could change to make it suit them more. The program will end with another 5-minute reflective walk before a final checkup where they will reflect on how they are feeling.
Report:
Our client didn’t complete the yoga positions exactly but did enjoy the activity it wasn’t completed in the time frame but was still beneficial and would be very good for other programs. Their reflection consisted of ways we could make the program even easier, so it was less focused on performing bending and acrobatic moves. The program was mostly successful
Week 3
Our third intervention will have our client begin their Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a 1km run before arriving at school. This will then be increased to 3km every afternoon. As a form of aerobic exercise running can reduce stress, improve heart health, and even help alleviate symptoms of depression. The business insider recommends running as an effective anti-depressant as it readily accessible thing for many. After this run, we will have him write down his feeling after the run and make changes according to that. Kerri-Ann Jennings of Healthline.com recommends writing down emotions as an easy way to relieve stress and pressure amongst the youth as it focuses on positive aspects.
Report:
Our third intervention went with successes and help eliminate some stress of our client. The run was taken at a moderate pace and allowed our client to complete within a comfortable and reasonable time. The note taking was also successful in as it provided an easy relive of stress for our client in a way that was able to benefit him mentally.
Week 4
Weeks 4 intervention will consist of our client performing relaxing tasks like light yoga and reading. Both of these activities have our client performing high concentration activities which will help better his overall mental health as well as improving his physical fitness. The reading partners organisation found that reading can improve mental health. This will continue over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The program for the last 4 days of the program will have our client just performing light yoga changing the reading for a 15-minute bike ride before resting and reporting his health status to us. This program and feedback will be used to improve and change the following weeks program.
Report:
This program went successfully with our client being able to complete all activities with relative ease and finding it as a way to effectively relive built up stress as there was no heavily intensive actions in the program. The reading also helped with relieving stress as it was something that was not overly physical and did not to much strain on the body.
WEEK 5
Our week 5 intervention will have our client begin their Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with 20 minutes of yoga before a 15 minute bike ride which they will then repeat in the afternoon after school. After these activities they will rest on Thursday and Friday before an intensive run of 5km and a bike ride of 3km on both Saturday and Sunday. These last two activates are designed to relieve built up anger rather than pure stress. The a1orginisation recommends relieving stress as it is tied to stress in many ways and can positively impact a persons mental health.
Report:
Weeks 5 intervention program went successfully without many issues but we did get feedback on the intensive activates saying that they didn’t relive as much stress when compared to the other activities from that involved reading or walking or any activity where there wasn’t an emphasis on intensity.
WEEK 6
Our final intervention program will involve an intense mix of all the activates covered across the intervention program to hopefully maximise results and help our clients mental health significantly. On Monday and Tuesday our client will start their day with a 1km walk before a mindful reflection and a 15 minute read. In the afternoon they will have a 2km bike ride before another 1km walk. Wednesday and Thursday will have our client preforming aerobic yoga for 30 minutes before a 1km run. On Friday they will perform a 1km run and bike ride, 30 minutes of calming yoga, a 10 minute bike ride before ending Friday with a mindful walk and reflection. On Saturday our client will rest before finishing the 6 week program by contacting a professional via email to report their mental health status.
Report:
Our final intervention program was aimed to have a lasting impact on our client to improve their overall mental health after the program has ended. The use of all previous fitness programs allowed for our client to get the best of all the weekly programs. Our client enjoy this final intervention as it was similar to many of the previous weeks just without as much intensity making it a very effective way to reduce our clients stress in future. Our client is still suffering from depression but their mental state is in a better place and their social life is now stable.
